Karen wants nothing

Karen and the children are just hanging out. There is no specific task to accomplish and no particular activity planned. Early childhood educator Magda Gerber called this "wants-nothing time" and it is an integral part of any toddler program. The children respond to Karen's presence in different ways. Some do their own thing, while others stick close to Karen and revel in her relaxed attention.
